What ID can I use?

Quick Read:

  • ID types split into three geographical areas: Australia, UK and rest of the world
  • ID used to apply for EOT much match ID used on test day
  • If you don't have a valid ID, you will need to request an Authorisation Letter.

OET takes test security seriously, which is why we require specific ID documentation when applying and taking OET.

Australia

In Australia:

  • You must provide your valid passport as proof of identity.
  • If you do not have a valid passport please complete this form when you register to take the test.
  • Driver’s license
  • Professional ID card
  • Voting card

UK

In the UK:

  • You must provide your valid passport or a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) as proof of identity.
  • If you do not have a valid passport or BRP please complete this form when you register to take the test.
  • Driver’s license
  • Professional ID card
  • Voting card

Rest of World

Outside Australia and the UK:

  • You must provide your valid passport or official National Identity Card for the country in which you are sitting the test.
  • If you do not have a valid passport or official National Identity Card please complete this form when you register to take the test.
  • Driver’s license
  • Professional ID card
  • Voting card

 

It’s important to remember that you will not be admitted to the test if the name on your ID document does not match the name you used to register.
